Cateura Soy Candles: #UpcycleQueens
If you’re looking to give the gift of good scents this year, I highly recommend placing an order for a handmade soy candle by Cateura Soy Candles. Cateura is a city in Paraguay known for its location directly on top of a landfill, and it has been an inspiration to a couple of bohemian creatives, Stephanie Perez and Janella Huelga.
To pay homage to the people of Cateura, they decided to start making soy candles in glass bottles that would otherwise end up in a local landfill. In Miami, the night life goes through tons of alcohol contained in glass bottles such as those of beer, wine, and spirits, and thanks to the skillful craft of these lovely locals they won’t all end up in the trash. Instead, they will be reinvented into fabulous gift for your sniffing pleasure, and gee do they smell heavenly! Collecting from local restaurants such as Lokal in Coconut Grove and The Corner in downtown, these gals are seriously committed to serving their community by keeping things fresh, upcycled, and local. Happy shopping!
Don’t believe me? Sniff them out for yourself at their upcoming pop-up shops!
December 3rd at The Social Lubricant, Words and Wine event.
December 6th at Railroad Blues, Moon River Burlesque Show.
