We're living in a culture that glorifies constantly performing–– and optimally. More than glorifying, it sets hyper productivity as the minimum standard. Why? Because we all have the internet and endless resources to be great, so you don't get to chill, okay? You should be constantly doing and striving and hustling.
I recently heard of the idea of boredom being the perfect bedrock for breakthroughs and innovative ideas.
The best ideas come when you're bored. They will not come when you're busy or stressed.
Thought for the day: Embrace your boredom. Invite your boredom. Do not resist when its prickly embers find their way into your thoughts. If you sit with it long enough, you just may have your next great idea.
